Across the West producers are losing livestock, time, and money to wolf activity. Too often their voices go unheard and the true impact on rural communities are overlooked. Ranches with Wolves exists to bridge that gap, connecting the realities of ranch life with the public narrative surrounding wolves. Reimbursement programs fall short and only pay for direct confirmed wolf depredations.

We raise funds and awareness to:

-Support ranchers experiencing the direct and indirect losses of wolf presence.

-Share real stories of Western ranching families through outreach programs.

-Build understanding between ranchers, wildlife management programs, and the public.

-Protect the future of these ranches and the families who sustain them.

-Advocate for the ranchers through legislation for wolf management.

In rural California, gray wolves are a growing threat demanding attention
When a cow is killed, the financial hit extends over multiple years: the operation not only loses that year’s calf, but also future offspring, along with the revenue and herd stability that cow would have provided. Ranchers then have to more frequently retain replacement heifers or buy additional replacements. This means fewer animals are available for sale, working capital must be used to buy additional replacements and herd development is ultimately delayed.
