Navigating a suspected wolf depredation

Grant funding through CDFW is available for probable and confirmed livestock losses. First step is to call your local government trapper to investigate the kill. Cover the kill with a tarp to preserve the scene and the carcass until officials can get on site. Once determination is made, fill out the Wolf Livestock Loss Compensation Application and send to wolfcompensation@wildlife.ca.gov.
